October’s Photogrphy Meeting

This months Thursday meeting will be on Thursday 25th Oct at 7.30pm at the Printshop.
Note this is not the third but the fourth Thursday – this is not a mistake!!
The theme goes back to the August meeting when we were looking at texture and were going to look at printing substrates.
Everyone is invited to bring to the meeting ONE image that they would like to see printed on different papers.
Please bring the image on a memory stick so it can be uploaded quickly and easily. Do Not send images to Simon in advance as he is very busy at the moment.

Advance notice — Our walk as part of the Bollington Walking Festival is on Saturday 27th October Leaving the Ranger Station on Adlington Road ar 2.00pm. Please tell your friends about this as it was missed out of the Walking Festival Programme.

Unfortunately we have to cancel the workshop scheduled for this Thursday 19th July.
Weather permitting the walk on Friday 27th July will take place as usual.

Dear all,

I’m hoping that the weather (for once this year) is kind for us and we could enjoy an unofficial stroll starting at the Turners Arms (New Con Club) to walk through Sowcar Fields, up Beeston Mount and fields to Long Lane, then down to Sugar Lane, working our way back to the canal, Clarence Road and back to the start or thereabouts.

If it’s raining an alternative plan could be devised (ie stay at home and not bother).

Photography Group Summer Programme

Bollington Photography Group Summer Programme

We plan to meet twice a month from April to October.
The Thursday meeting will be held at Bollington Printshop. There will be two sections to the meeting. The first part will look at photographs taken on the previous month’s walk and submitted by participants. The second part will be information, hints and discussion relating to the theme of the next week’s walk.
The Friday meeting is a walk. The meeting/start point will be e-mailed to everyone and will be on our web site. (www.bollingtonphotos.com)

River Dean Photowalk

This has probably got to be the strangest walk the group will undertake and will definitely be the strangest walk the group will do more than once! Yes, this is the second time the group has ventured along the River Dean!

A brave few members from the festival photography group entered the river at the recreation ground and ventured up stream encountering various forms of flora and fauna on the way.

Ingersley Vale Photo Walk

On the 22nd April we met at “the Crown” and decided to head towards Ingersley Vale to see the demolition work on the mill. Typically we got sidetracked by a footpath sign pointing in a direction that looked tempting and headed off into the unknown. The demolition work has made one part of the footpath impassable so we used our ingenuity and improvised. Eventually we made our way back past Savio House and back to the Poachers for refreshment. A very peaceful and pleasant walk.

Quick White Nancy Walk

The photography groups second walk of the season was short walk to White Nancy to catch the sun setting over the Cheshire plains and we had the perfect evening, being rewarded with a beautiful golden sunset. The walk started at the Bull’s Head pub in Kerridge, watching leaping spring lambs, before heading along Redway lane, the bridleway and up to the summit to catch the setting sun. Was quite busy atop White Nancy this evening!

Craft Fair

Bollington Festival Photography had a highly successful day at the Bollington Arts Centre’s craft fair today! The stall manned by Thomas & Katherine Lewis sold a total of eleven prints, a few postcards as well as books in aid of The Alzheimer’s Society.

Many thanks to all the people who came in, chatted, browsed and especially those who bought!
